Ismael Gouveia and Jaime Pereira, students in the percussion class of professors André Dias and Bruno Costa, have secured a place in the Ensemble Orquestral da Beira Interior (EOBI), one of the most promising musical projects dedicated to young musicians at the start of their careers.

The EOBI, which is part of the BEYRA Artistic Laboratory, provides opportunities for emerging talents aged between 18 and 27, promoting both classical and contemporary repertoire. Created in 2023 by cellist Filipe Quaresma, BEYRA aims to foster the creation and dissemination of new musical works, commissioning pieces from Portuguese and international composers.

Under the musical direction of conductor and cellist Bruno Borralhinho, the EOBI has stood out for its dedication to contemporary music, with a particular focus on the works of Portuguese composers. Since its debut in July 2023, the ensemble has been revitalizing the musical scene of the Beira Interior region, promoting innovative concerts and educational initiatives such as open rehearsals, music workshops, and mentorship programs for young students.

The inclusion of Ismael Gouveia and Jaime Pereira in the EOBI marks an important milestone in their artistic journeys and reinforces the ensemble’s commitment to supporting new talent, strengthening its role in the promotion of music and culture in the region.
