On November 27, 2024, ESART/IPCB hosted the workshop “From Concept to Project: The Synthesis Process in the Creation of Graphic Brands”, led by communication designer and researcher Cátia Rijo. The session is aimed primarily at students on the MA in Graphic Design, as part of their advanced training in visual identity and project methodology.

With a solid career in communication design, Cátia Rijo is currently Vice-President of ESELx – Escola Superior de Educação do Politécnico de Lisboa, where she teaches graphic design and coordinates research projects. She has a PhD in Design from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, has authored several international publications and is the founder of DESIGNLAB4U, an agency-laboratory that combines teaching and professional practice.

The workshop offers a practical and reflective approach to the process of creating graphic brands, from conceptualization to execution, valuing visual synthesis and semantic coherence in the development of visual identities.

This initiative reinforces ESART’s commitment to offering excellent training experiences and direct contact with leading professionals and researchers in the field of design.
