About the Course

The Master’s in Graphic Design, offered in partnership between the Castelo Branco School of Applied Arts and the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, features a strongly practical curriculum focused on the professional reality of Communication Design. Integrated into a polytechnic institution that values applied research and experimental development, this well-established programme emphasizes project-based learning, often developed in collaboration with regional companies and international professionals. Over four semesters (two years), students acquire skills in areas such as Visual Identity, UX Design, Information Design (including signage and infographics), Typography, and Editorial Design. The second year is dedicated to a dissertation, project, or internship. The course is certified by the Higher Education Assessment and Accreditation Agency.

Goals

• Train professionals in Graphic and Multimedia Design with the knowledge and skills to independently resolve complex real-world projects in broad or multidisciplinary contexts.

• Develop professionals with advanced expertise in research, innovation, conception, planning, development, and implementation of Graphic and Multimedia Design projects, integrating diverse knowledge, as well as in project team coordination, consultancy, or issuing technical opinions.

• Provide training for professionals in specific areas of Graphic and Multimedia Design, capable of joining design and consultancy companies, advertising agencies, or design, communication, consultancy, image, and marketing departments in companies across various sectors.
