About the course

In general terms, the bachelor’s degree is awarded to students who demonstrate knowledge and understanding in a specific field of study, the ability to apply and comprehend the knowledge acquired, problem-solving skills, the capacity to construct and justify their own arguments, as well as competence in processing and communicating information, ideas, problems, and solutions. The programme also encourages progression to a second cycle of studies in Graphic Design or Audiovisual Production for New Media. The Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design and Audiovisual Production was established in 1999 under the name of a two-stage degree in Image Arts (3 years of a Bachelor’s + 2 years of a Licentiate degree), with specialisations in Graphic Design and Multimedia and Audiovisual Design. In 2007, the study cycle was reorganised in accordance with the Bologna Process, adopting its current title. Structured over six semesters across three academic years, the course comprises a first year of foundational training, a second year with a theoretical-practical approach, and a third year focused on practical application, aiming to ground, consolidate, and apply knowledge and skills in communication design, particularly in the fields of graphic design, multimedia, and audiovisuals.
