“Solar Vaz de Carvalho” Relatório da Reabilitação do edifício do Solar em Hotel

The purpose of this report is to present the proposal for the Final Project of the Interior Design and Equipment degree, in this sense, we present as a proposal, the intervention in Solar Vaz de Carvalho, an 18th century building also known as the Colégio de Santo António, located in the city of Fundão, district of Castelo Branco.
Over time, the Manor House has evolved through various functions and families. It was built by José Vaz de Carvalho in 1858, passed into the hands of Joaquim Macedo Forjaz Gusmão and later to his daughter Anna. Later, in 1935, it housed the Santo António school, run by Father José Mendes, and is currently the offices of a technology company. The building proposed is currently owned by the Fundão City Council, which has rented it out to a technology company, and in order to make the public property more profitable, the Solar Vaz de Carvalho Hotel is proposed, this rehabilitation will contribute to solving some of the city's problems, as well as those of the community itself and prevent it from returning to abandonment.
