Within the scope of the curricular unit of Interior Design and Equipment Project, to be taught in the 2nd semester of the 3rd year by the project leader Professor Nelson Antunes, it was proposed to carry out the final project, which covered the interior and equipment aspects, applying the skills acquired during the three years of the degree. This document aims to make my final project known.
The project consisted of the restoration of a house for local accommodation, located in the municipality of Ferreira do Zêzere, close to the Bairradinha river beach. This house, built in the 19th century, was never finished for unknown reasons and is currently in disuse. The objective is to transform this abandoned house into a welcoming and attractive space, taking advantage of the privileged location and unexplored potential of the region.
In addition to promoting tourism and revitalizing the local economy, the project also aims to preserve the environment and sustainability. Incorporating natural and organic elements such as wood and stone, the design of the space will reflect the simplicity and authenticity of village life. The connection with the culture and history of ancestors will be emphasized, providing visitors with an enriching experience and inclusion in local tradition. The restoration of this house symbolizes not only the recovery of an old building that was never used, but also the revitalization of the collective memory and cultural heritage of the village of Bairradinha
