Match Day is a visual and emotional journey that combines the nostalgia of a childhood full of dreams with the idealisation of a bright, technological future, romanticising the past and imagining the future. The collection plays with our personal universe, the future is as
stylised as in the films we watched as children: ‘Not Another Teen Movie’, ‘Ten Things I Hate About You’, “Clueless”, ‘Wild Child’, ‘Bring It On’. These visions are translated through our everyday experiences, in an American school aesthetic. Imagining corridors with decorated lockers, the smell of new backpacks, love letters passed from notebook to notebook, American football games on autumn afternoons and the intense cheers of the cheerleaders.
This collection captures the feelings of preparing for a new school year in a fictional American school, where the atmosphere is full of expectations and endless possibilities.
