This project is the culmination of the knowledge acquired over the three years of the bachelor’s degree in Communication and Audiovisual Design. Its main objective is the study and design of a new communication strategy for the Municipality of Gouveia, regarding information and signage design, to contribute to its urban and tourist development. The current strategy unfolds in two phases that complement each other. The first phase involves the updating and modernization of the Urban Route of Gouveia, already existing in the Municipality, which connects several heritages, cultural and religious points of interest. The second phase aims to reformulate the communication supports for the urban transport in the city of Gouveia, to facilitate their perception and understanding and with the aim of making their use simpler. This objective also seeks to update existing means of communication and make them accessible to different age groups, residents, and tourists. This project, although conceived as a whole, is divided into several phases that follow a line of reasoning. The project starts from the identification of the client's needs, followed by an in-depth theoretical development phase on relevant areas of study. It continues with the research, analysis and understanding of different case studies, reflecting on similar projects, allowing conclusions that can help in obtaining results that respond to the objectives defined for this project. The development of communication supports is carried out in accordance with the visual and corporate identity of the Municipality of Gouveia, thus maintaining coherence between the various supports.
