This collection connects historical figures such as Emily Dickinson, Julie D'Aubigny, and Bernadetta Carlini with contemporary queer icons such as Chappell Roan and Phoebe Bridgers, all of whom are in some way part of the LGBT community. Inspired by Dickinson's poem, it reflects on the duality between past oppression and sexual liberation over the last few centuries, while also addressing the fragility of these achievements. It also represents the hope for a future where sapphic women do not have to hide their identity, given that we still live in a society that tries its utmost to repress these women.
