The curricular internship, integrated in the Master in Interior Design and Furniture,
was developed at Aurea Interiores, in Covilhã. With the internship it is intended to put
into practice all the knowledge acquired during the academic path and to interconnect
it with the knowledge acquired in the company, making the most of a practical
experience in the job market.
The choice to develop the internship with this company was due to the projects,
which in addition to focusing on interior spaces are sometimes commercial or
corporate spaces. Initially presented in 3D, which integrates the layout of the initial
study, later implying the selection of materials, colors, furniture, textiles and lighting,
resulting in personalized, simple and intimate spaces.
Knowing the reality of Interior Design and Furniture in Beira Baixa, more
specifically in the cities of Castelo Branco and Covilhã, was an asset to understand the
market in the region. Knowing work methodologies, partners and suppliers, discussing
projects with clients and designing as a team was essential for growth as a future
professional.
There were several projects in which I participated, from March to July, in which
work was developed in the interior design aspect of domestic spaces and commercial
spaces, as well as, in projects aimed at social networks. I also gained knowledge in the
application of textiles, wood and wallpaper, in the interiors, their applications in space
and understanding of the technical file.
All the work done, allowed to acquire a better perception of the interior
treatment area, whatever the typology. In addition to meetings with customers, the
development of each project, the interaction with suppliers and salespeople of
different brands, proved to be essential for professional and personal growth in the
area and in the company.
