This project addresses a major problem in the centre of the city of Olhão; this problem affects not only visitors, but also the entire economy linked to tourism, one of the pillars of the city's life over the years.
The lack of a coherent signposting system in the streets of downtown Olhão has affected visitors' orientation and exploration of the city's culture and diversity. To understand how to create a signage system for this city, we researched, studied and analysed an objective theoretical framework, case studies that demonstrate the development of signage systems and a more in-depth analysis of the object of study. A detailed and objective development and creation process will help to achieve the desired end results and fulfil the goals and objectives.
The creation of a communication and orientation system with the development of a signposting system and means of communication will help to make the Municipality of Olhão more visible and make it easier for visitors to get around.
