António Martins, a man far ahead of his time. A great inspiration, both for his evolution as a human being and for the great craftsman he was in life. A shoemaker by profession, but his life was not limited to shoes. He created bags, wallets, bracelets, belts, both for men and women, and covered wooden benches with leather, which was the predominant material in his art. The ‘A à Loje’ collection was inspired by my grandfather's work, by the details and materials he used. In this collection, we see leather overlaid on simple garments. Details such as fastenings, eyelets, and patchwork with scraps of leather, which he left me. ‘A à Loje’ was the name my grandfather gave to his studio. The shop was where people used to store some of their belongings, a kind of storage room. In this case, it was where Grandfather António's art came to life.
