2MEND draws inspiration from Japanese workwear, exploring its nuances and peculiarities, in contrast to other approaches to utilitarian clothing. The conceptual basis of the collection is rooted in philosophies presented in Soetsu Yanagi's book The Beauty of Everyday Things, valuing the aesthetics of simplicity, functionality, and beauty found in everyday life. In addition, it promotes reflection on the fast pace of the contemporary world, advocating deceleration and encouraging more conscious and intentional consumption. Through the intersection of tradition and modernity, 2MEND seeks to reinterpret Japanese workwear, preserving its silhouettes and utilitarianism, while adopting an innovative and contemporary perspective on fashion.
