Miguel Carvalhinho and Custódio Castelo, professors at the School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, participated in the II Historical Music Conference “Notas no Tempo” (Notes in Time), which took place on 21 and 22 November at the University of the Azores (UAc) and the Regional Conservatory of Ponta Delgada (CRPD).
According to the guitarists, their presence enhances the prestige of the event, highlighting the connection between tradition, research and musical practice. It also underlines the organisation’s commitment to the artistic and pedagogical quality of this initiative, offering participants the opportunity to meet two prestigious Portuguese musicians.
Organised by the UAc Academy of Arts, the CRPD and the Madeira Academy of Musicology and Artistic Studies, these conferences aim to foster the exchange of ideas and experiences, as well as to celebrate the evolution and musical heritage of the Azores, Madeira and the Atlantic, bringing together experts and enthusiasts in the study of historical music.
