The musician, composer and professor at the School of Applied Arts, Miguel Carvalhinho, is celebrating 35 years of his career with the release of his new album, Convite. The official presentation is scheduled for 25 January at 4.30pm at Casa das Beiras in Lisbon.
This work brings together great talents such as Custódio Castelo (Portuguese guitar and production), Pedro Ladeira (clarinet) and Horácio Carvalhinho, the author’s son, who is responsible for the album’s graphic design. One of the great surprises of this work is Miguel Carvalhinho’s debut as a vocal performer, for the first time integrating his voice into a collection of songs.
Convite pays homage to Mediterranean culture, family and the affinities between friends, with special emphasis on the viola beiroa, which once again takes centre stage in Carvalhinho’s artistic creation.
Published by the Castelo Branco Parish Council, the album will soon be available on digital platforms.
