Maria Adélia Gonçalves Martins de Abrunhosa completed her PhD studies at the Universidad de Extremadura, Facultad de Formación del Profesorado, where she obtained the European Doctorate Diploma in the area of Physical and Artistic Education, sub-area of Musical Training, under the guidance of the teacher Pilar Barrios. She has a Master's degree in Pedagogical Supervision from the Instituto Superior de Educação e Ciência and a Graduation in Music, Musical Educacion, from the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. She began her musical studies at the School of Music of the National Conservatory of Lisbon where she completed the Piano course and the Higher Composition course having studied with the composers Joly Braga Santos, Constança Capdeville, Álvaro Salazar and Christopher Bochmann. She worked as an accompanist pianist and held the position of Pedagogical Director at the Conservatório Regional do Algarve Maria Campina. It develops teaching and research activities and collaborates in the training and evaluation of music teachers.
