Laura Pereira, a master’s student in Music Education at the School of Applied Arts (ESART) of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, in the violin class of professors Augusto Trindade, Alexandra Trindade, Nuno Vasconcelos and Tiago Santos, was selected for the Gulbenkian Orchestra Internship 2025.

The internship took place between 25 and 31 October at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, culminating in two concerts alongside the Gulbenkian Orchestra, conducted by Aziz Shokhakimov. The young woman, who is also currently part of the Quinteto Sextante chamber music group, composed of ESART students, joined the first violin section.

Created in 2013, this internship aims to promote orchestral experience and the artistic development of young Portuguese musicians or those residing in Portugal, through intensive work guided by specialised tutors and musicians from the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
