João Cabral

João Carlos da Fonseca Cabral holds the title of Specialist in Audiovisual and Media Production (CNAEF 213), officially recognised within the Portuguese polytechnic higher education system. He holds a Master’s degree in Technology and Digital Art and a Postgraduate diploma in Digital Art, both awarded by the School of Engineering at the University of Minho. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree (Bietápica) in Communication and Audiovisual Technologies from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto.

With a diverse professional background, he works as a freelancer in the field of audiovisuals and media production, having collaborated with television channels such as SIC and the History Channel. He is also a trainer in the CNAEF 213 area and has experience working with Kodak Portugal laboratories.

His production work includes the DVD "UXUKALHUS – 10 Years of Portuguese Folk" (2010), the sensory book project "Projeto Silence – Livro Sensitivo", registered with the Portuguese Patent and Trademark Office (INPI no. 11052, 2014), and the digital publication "Audiovisual Manual for Students & Professionals" (2022, ISBN 978-989-33-3664-9). He has also produced promotional videos for Turismo de Portugal.

His areas of interest include interface design in augmented reality, real-time interaction, video mapping, motion design, sound design, documentary filmmaking, and both analogue and digital video and photography.
