“Lines and Structures” brings industry and academia together around innovation

On 3 December, the interdisciplinary event ‘Lines and Structures’ will take place, an initiative of the Civil Engineering and Interior Design and Equipment degree courses, which promotes closer ties between higher education and the industrial sector. The meeting highlights the role of materials in creating more efficient, sustainable and expressive built environments, encouraging dialogue between aesthetics, functionality and technical performance.The programme includes a diverse set of lectures given by leading companies on the national scene. The Preceram Group participates with the session ‘Solutions for Sustainable, Fast and Efficient Construction’, presented by Ávila e Sousa. This is followed by ‘The Power of Ceramics in Space Construction’, by Celestino Pires and Gilda Rodrigues, from the Grespanaria Group.In the afternoon, Perfisa will present ‘Light Steel Framing – Sustainable Construction in Light Steel,’ and Sofalca will lead the lecture ‘From the cork oak tree to the future – Cork, insulation and design.’ The programme also includes presentations by Newterracotta, Balbino & Faustino, Saint-Gobain Solutions and Rothoblaas, reflecting the diversity of approaches and materials present in the construction industry.Throughout the event, there will be opportunities for direct contact with construction materials and systems, reinforcing the importance of interdisciplinarity and sustainability in the training of future professionals.
