ESART Percussion Group: Pontes Sonoras Transatlânticas

The concert at Fábrica da Criatividade marks the exchange between the percussion classes of the School of Applied Arts (ESART) of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) and Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tennessee – United States).

The programme, composed of Portuguese and American authors, brings together different languages and sensibilities, transforming itself into a musical bridge between the two sides of the Atlantic Ocean. It celebrates the transformative power of art, reaffirming the role of music in bringing people, institutions and cultures together.

Under the artistic direction of André Dias and Ji Hye Jung, the ESART-IPCB Percussion Group is formed by Amadeu Lança, Diogo Pinto, Francisco Fernandes, Francisco Guerreiro, Francisco Teixeira, Ismael Gouveia, Jaime Pereira, Leonor Vigo, Manuel Dias, Miguel Pires, Nádia Oliveira, Rodrigo Loureiro and Tiago Silva.

The Vanderbilt Percussion Group is composed of Alex Holloway, Ella Zimmermann, Gabriel Chichka, Hannah Lam, Jordan Katz, Lillian Reeves, Makoa Lewis, Matthew Oh, Pierce Ruch, Reese Modesitt, Riley Hale, Sarang Shravan and Trenton Brink.
