ESART Brass Ensemble presents “Perficere Opus”

On 21 January, at 7 pm, the ESART Brass Ensemble will present the concert Perficere Opus, a Latin expression meaning “complete and successful creation”, in Auditorium 1 of the School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco.

The programme includes works by Steven Verhelst (10 for Brass, suite from Maria de Buenos Aires), Jean Sibelius (Finland, arr. Steven Verhelst) and Joy Webb (Share My Yoke, arr. PIC III), as well as the world premiere of Transitus, a composition by student João Pedro Ferreira dedicated to the ESART-IPCB ensemble.

Under the artistic and musical direction of Gabriel Silva, the brass and percussion group, an optional course also taught by José Almeida, is composed of Frederico Oliveira, Gonçalo Viana, João Oliveira, Rodrigo Corneta and Tomás Reis (trumpet); Adriano Bettencourt, Ana Reis, Fábio Esteves and Guilherme Costa (French horn); Afonso Tomé, Alexandre Ferreira, Bruna Teixeira, Diogo Carvalho, José Serrano (trombone); Leandro Sousa and Maria Inês Barreto (euphonium); Diogo Figueiredo and Rodrigo Dias (tuba); Amadeu Lança, Diogo Pinho, Francisco Teixeira, Manuel Dias, Nádia Oliveira and Rodrigo Loureiro (percussion).
