For four months, violinists Angélica Fonseca and Joana Ranito, master’s students in Music Education at the School of Applied Arts (ESART) of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB), are on a European tour with the Budapest Orchestra.

Since last October, and until February this year, the orchestra, conducted by Aleh Lessoun, and in collaboration with the classical dance company Paris Ballet Theatre, has been performing Tchaikovsky’s ballet ‘The Nutcracker’ in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls. The tour began in Hungary and included stops in France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Luxembourg.

According to teachers Augusto and Alexandra Trindade, Tiago Santos and Nuno Vasconcelos, this is yet another international recognition of the artistic level of the students and the work carried out by the violin class at ESART-IPCB.
