AI-assisted audiovisual production

Date

During March, the School of Applied Arts (ESART) at the Castelo Branco Polytechnic (IPCB) was represented in Italy through the participation of Professor Neel Naik in an ERASMUS+ exchange programme.

During his visit to the Milan campus of the Sanremo Academy of Fine Arts, the lecturer led a workshop dedicated to AI filmmaking, that is, film production and direction assisted by artificial intelligence.

In addition to an introduction to contemporary approaches to audiovisual creation, the sessions included references to Italian graphic history, particularly with regard to animation style and character development, fostering a connection between visual traditions and emerging digital practices.

The communication design students demonstrated a high level of engagement in the activities organised during the workshop. The results showcase creativity, technical experimentation and enthusiasm in exploring the potential of artificial intelligence within the context of visual storytelling.

This participation reinforces ESART-IPCB’s commitment to internationalisation and the integration of innovative methodologies in arts education and design.
