ESART Brass Ensemble Charity Concert
The Brass Ensemble of the School of Applied Arts (ESART) at the Castelo Branco Polytechnic (IPCB) will perform on 19 May, from 7 pm, at the Co-Cathedral of Castelo Branco, in a charity concert featuring Henri Tomasi’s Fanfares Liturgiques. An excerpt from the opera Don Juan de Mañara, composed in 1947, comprising the movements Annonciation, Évangil, Apocalypse and Procession du Vendredi-Saint.
Founded in 2023 as part of an optional module on the IPCB’s Bachelor’s degree course in Music – Instrumental specialisation, under the direction of Professor José Almeida, the ESART Brass Ensemble is a group comprising brass and percussion instruments, whose aim is to perform a variety of musical styles, from original works to arrangements for instrumental ensembles.
