‘Cadeira Sénior’ Furniture Design Exhibition

On 17 March at 5 pm, in the entrance hall of the School of Education at the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB), the Senior Chair furniture design exhibition will be inaugurated.

Under the guidance of lecturers Raúl Cunca and Tiago Girão, and with support from the ESART Project Factory team, the exhibition features nine prototypes of a senior recliner and activity support chair created between 2020 and 2025 by students from IPCB’s School of Applied Arts.

Masters students on the Interior and Furniture Design course were then challenged to design and develop a piece of furniture adapted for users with limited mobility, intended for domestic spaces or care homes.

The exhibition can be visited until 17 April, forming part of the activities at the IPCB Staff House scheduled for March and April.
