Trumpeters Gonçalo Viana and Tomás Reis, students on the Music Degree Course – Instrument Variant at the School of Applied Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco, in the class of professors António Quítalo and José Almeida, were selected, after a national audition, to join the Portuguese Youth Orchestra (JOP).

Created in 2010, and under the artistic direction of conductor Pedro Carneiro, the JOP is the ambassador of Portuguese talent in Europe and the rest of the world. In addition to representing the country in the EFNYO – European Federation of National Youth Orchestras, it is also a creative partner of the Gustavo Dudamel Foundation.
