On 22 September, marking the opening of the 2025/26 academic year, the School of Applied Arts (ESART) of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco (IPCB) welcomed around two hundred and fifty new students.

The welcome session for students enrolled in higher professional technical and bachelor’s degree courses through different admission routes featured speeches by José Francisco Pinho, director of ESART, and Alexandra Fernandes, president of the student association of this IPCB unit.

After the initial reception, which also included a presentation by the Praxe Committee, the students attended a meeting with the coordinators and lecturers of their respective courses. This was an opportunity for them to receive additional advice and learn about the various facilities and services available at this IPCB unit.

At the same time, in his written message to the new members of the academic community, the director of ESART took the opportunity to ‘make a commitment that I will seek the best conditions for the functioning of our institution so that the academic year takes place in a fruitful environment,’ wishing everyone ‘a good academic year, full of personal and academic success.’
