Project Basta – Dating Violence

This project aims to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired and
developed over the three years of the degree in Communication and Audiovisual
Design.
Dating violence is a social problem, a real issue, increasingly worrying and present
in our daily lives. Daily we are confronted with news about different types of
relationship abuse, most of which show violent behavior in dating relationships. Thus,
this was the theme chosen for our final project.
Being aware of the role of community and social intervention of associations in this
area, we searched for proximity associations whose area of action identified with our
goal.
In this sense, we tried to join efforts with Amato Lusitano – Associação de
Desenvolvimento, located in Castelo Branco, which provides answers to the most
diverse social problems, including support and monitoring to victims of violence.
We intend with our project to contribute to the prevention and combat to dating
violence, so "Basta" was the name chosen for our work.
The project consists in making a short film about dating violence, complemented
with an awareness campaign that includes six posters, a promotional teaser and the
creation of a page on the social network Instagram. With this creation we intend to
demonstrate not only the different aspects of an abusive relationship and its
consequences but also the various alternatives for support and help.
