DOMA-KHONE-HOME

An invitation to a reflective and creative journey to explore the personal relationship with the theme of home through music.

You’ll have the opportunity to learn a traditional women’s song from Herat, Afghanistan, gaining a new perspective on Afghanistan’s rich heritage of musical traditions.

The workshop will also include a collective improvisation session centred on the theme of home, where participants will be able to express their emotions and experiences through voice or musical instruments, promoting both personal expression and connection with the community.

This music and story-sharing workshop is created and co-directed by Markéta Zdeňková from the Czech Republic and Ustad Fazel Sapand from Afghanistan – two musicians united by the common experience of migration, albeit in very different circumstances. Despite their different journeys, they share a common theme: that of leaving home and returning to explore it from a new perspective.
