Tiago Santos began his musical studies at the Academia de Música de Santa Maria da Feira with Professor Joana Sybert and later at the Academia de Música de Paços de Brandão with Professors Carlos Fontes and Augusto Trindade. He holds a Bachelor's degree and Postgraduate degree from the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas de Castelo Branco in Professor Augusto Trindade's class. He has a Master's degree in Music Education from the same institution. He has attended masterclasses with Daniel Rowland, Helge Slaatto, Zófia Wóycicka, and Odin Rathnam. He was selected for the Gulbenkian Orchestra Internship in 2013; he was a permanent member of The World Orchestra in 2012 and the European Union Youth Orchestra between 2009 and 2012, as well as the YouTube Symphony Orchestra in 2009. He won 2nd Prize at the Santa Cecília Competition in 2006 and 2007 and a Merit Scholarship from the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco in 2010. He is currently a member of the Portuguese Philharmonic Orchestra. He has recorded for RTP, SIC, TVI, and BBC Radio 3. With over seventeen years of teaching experience, he has students who have won national and international competitions. He is a violin teacher at the Academia de Música de Paços de Brandão and the Escola Superior de Artes Aplicadas of the Polytechnic Institute of Castelo Branco. In 2020, he published the book "Método Solo Iniciante." At the same time, he studies High Performance and High Achievement areas, aiming to understand the Human Being as a whole, on a holistic basis.
