Tiago Coimbra is a soloist at the Göttinger Symphonie Orchester and the Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, and Professor of Oboe at the ESART Castelo Branco. In the 2022/23 season he performed in Málaga the world premiere of the new oboe concerto 'Resilience' by Luxembourg composer Félix Turrión Eichler. He was artist-in-residence at the Art & Science Days 2021 festival in Saint-Étienne and presented a recital at the Reencontros de Música Contemporânea 2023 with various works for oboe and electronics dedicated to him. Tiago has performed solo concerts with the Basel Kammerorchester, Argovia Philharmonic, Göttinger Symphonieorchester, Orquesta Filarmónica de Málaga, Yakutia Philharmonic, Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Orquestra Clássica de Espinho and Filarmonia das Beiras. He regularly collaborates as guest principal oboe with the MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig and Remix Ensemble Casa da Música, among others. He is a founding member of the Art'Ventus Quintet, with whom he recorded the album 'Swiss Treasures'. Tiago holds a doctorate in music from the University of Aveiro and has completed two master's degrees: with Emanuel Abbühl in Basel, and Thomas Indermühle in Zurich. He was a student of Maurice Bourgue at the Académie Musicale de Villecroze and in private lessons. He is regularly invited to teach masterclasses throughout the country and was a jury member for the Premio Jovens Músicos in the Oboe (2021) and Chamber Music (2023) categories.
